It was six months ago today that I first plugged my computer into the Starlink router, connected to the standard-sized Starlink “dish” (it’s a panel) that was flopped down haphazardly in my back yard.

Heat is awful, humidity makes it worse, and deathly stillness renders it just about insufferable. The other night my neighbor was standing on his porch. He blew a smoke ring. Next morning, it was still there, though the morning fog had made it soggy so it had sunk to the ground.

It’s doubly tragic that just days before Easter there’s need to address the appalling fact that more and more countries in the world, and a dozen states, now have laws that allow the killing of killing their citizens and residents.

Just over a year ago I got my Unicomp Model M Mini, a newly manufactured version of what is in my estimation the best computer keyboard ever, the IBM Model M SSK. The Minis and the SSKs are like a regular IBM Model M, but they don’t have a number pad at the right, so I can put the trackball there and not have to reach for it.
