Site reputation abuse is when a third-party abuses the reputation of a domain to rank a bunch of pages in Google. The SEO community refers to this type of thing as parasite SEO. Google has gone so far as to publish an official policy (documented here) on how this isn’t allowed: Site reputation abuse (parasite SEO) is rampant today. I […] The post The Stupidity of Google’s Site Reputation Abuse Policy appeared first on Lars Lofgren.
Parasite SEO is when a third-party company partners with an established domain, then posts a bunch of SEO content to make a bunch of money. Content often gets published in a subfolder or subdomain or the website. The goal is to leverage the domain’s trust with Google to get rankings and traffic easily. With the right agreement, you can make […] The post The Billion-Dollar World of Parasite SEO: How to Cash In appeared first on Lars Lofgren.
I recently broke down how Reddit mods and users are abusing Google search rankings with affiliate spam. It’s reddit marketing gone awry. The post blew up and got a decent amount of attention. Then I got a front row seat to how deep of a spam filled porta-potty Reddit has become. The State of the Thread When I Posted Here’s […] The post What Happened After I Outed a Reddit Mod for Affiliate Spam appeared first on Lars Lofgren.
I’m going to show you how to cash grab as a Reddit moderator. 5 minutes of work, then thousands of dollars per month for doing nothing. Maybe tens of thousands. With a 100% real example. I’ve edited nothing. When you’re a Reddit mod, you have a TON of power in that subreddit. You can delete anything you want and ban […] The post The Sleazy World of Reddit Marketing, Everything is Fake appeared first on Lars Lofgren.
Great post Lars. I have had my fair share of issues with Godaddy, and then Bluehost. I finally found satisfaction with SiteGround. The only reason GoDaddy is still in business is because of their heavy online and offline advertising. My WordPress website has not yet reached the 100K milestone to be concerned about premium hosting, but it's a problem we'd all love to have :) And thanks a lot for giving a peak into Kissmetrics hosting structure. Overall I took away some valuable stuff from this post.

There was a time I'd look at a board like the Radxa Dragon Q8B (at left, above) and be like, "there's no way I'd spend $209 on an SBC with 8 gigs of RAM". But we're in 2026, and seeing the 8 gig Raspberry Pi 5 going for almost the same amount, I figured I'd give it a shot. On paper, the Q8B beats the Pi 5 in pretty much every way. A lot of that is thanks to this Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 chip, which is the same chip I tested on Microsoft's Windows Dev Kit 2023.
The Sting belongs in the pantheon of films I'm deeply embarrassed to have not watched earlier. Not just because it's a great film — and it is — but because it is so incredibly my shit that I feel retroactively spurned for not having watched it sooner.
If everything worked as well as the product called Evapo-Rust, the world would be a much better place. That’s just one of the many lessons learned during my recent — successful! — project to transform my old, nonfunctioning gasoline-powered generator into something much better.
When I created OpenDithering back in June, the feature I was proudest of was the Auto-tune button. It did the slider work for me: it compared the dithered result to the original image, nudged the settings, and repeated until the image stopped improving. Over the summer it grew into a three-step process (Auto Expose, Color-tune, […] The post I deleted my favorite feature, and the image got better: Direct Binary Search (DBS) in OpenDithering appeared first on Style over Substance.
